Facebook to train five million people with digital skills by 2021

Social media giant Facebook weekday aforesaid it aims to train five million individuals on skills to assist them use the digital media to expand their business and access world markets.

The US-based company, that counts Asian nation mutually of its largest markets, has already trained concerning 1,000,000 people through its various initiatives.

"Facebook is committed to enabling  tiny businesses to achieve the worldwide economy, and that we are partnering numerous organisations to reach intent on individuals. we tend to are committed to train five million people with digital skills and world market access by 2021," Facebook Public Policy Director (India, South and Central Asia) Ankhi Das told reporters here.

She added that with ten current programs, Facebook has already trained a meg folks across one hundred fifty cities and 48,000 villages with support from fifty partners.

These efforts -- wherever the users are trained on exploitation Facebook and photo-sharing platform, Instagram to create their business - are being organised below Facebook's Community Boost programme.

"At Facebook, we wish to make sure that the advantages of connectivity are realized by everybody, everywhere, in India. Our mission at Facebook is to empower local entrepreneurs with digital skills so they will grow their business," she said.

The training modules for these businesses in digital promoting and online safety -- developed by Facebook -- are accessible in fourteen native languages.

Facebook's programme reach twenty nine states in Republic of India and have received robust response in states like U.P., Karnataka, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Odisha and Rajasthan among others.

Asked concerning steps being taken to curb abusive and hate speech on the platform, as well as those for businesses, Das said the corporate has already taken down over one.5 billion items of content this year that were in this realm.
